Red Feather Prescribed Fire

Project Goals: The Red Feather Prescribed Burn was located north of Red Feather Lakes, Colo., east of the Crystal Lakes Subdivision at 8,500 feet elevation. Firefighters successfully burned over 4,000 acres over multiple years on this project in an effort to improve forest health and reduce hazardous fuels. The last ignitions of the burn took place on October 16, 2019. Some maintenance burning could take place within the perimeter in upcoming years.
