May 1, 2022

Manual thinning and hand piling activities will begin on the 2021 South Zone Manual Treatment Contract located on the Boulder and Clear Creek Ranger Districts beginning the week of May 2, 2022.

Work will begin on the Boulder Ranger District to thin and pile 276 acres of hazardous fuels in the vicinities of Magnolia Road, Emory Road, South Beaver Creek Road, and west of Gross Dam adjacent to Coal Creek Canyon. Once work is completed on the Boulder Ranger District, fuels mitigation crews will move to the Clear Creek Ranger District to address 139 acres of hazardous fuels west of Central City and areas near Cold Springs Campground.
