The FireCollabMap is Mapping the Partnerships Behind Wildfire Resilience

Across Northern Colorado, healthier forests and safer communities depend on organizations bringing their expertise, resources, and relationships together. At the Northern Colorado Fireshed Collaborative, connecting those efforts is central to our mission. The Colorado Front Range FireCollabMap, available through our website’s Resources for Partners page, offers a way to explore the organizations and partnerships behind this work.

Making Collaboration Visible

FireCollabMap brings together interactive maps, networks, and directories that show where organizations work, what they focus on, and how they collaborate across the Colorado Front Range.

The platform draws on an online governance survey conducted in fall 2024 by the Fueling Adaptation research team. The survey gathered information from groups involved in wildfire risk management, land stewardship, or community development to better understand the network supporting wildfire adaptation.

The network diagram makes these relationships visible, showing connections between groups collaborating across the region. It includes groups that agreed to appear in the public network, along with the partner groups they named in their survey responses.

Together, these tools provide a snapshot of collaboration in fall 2024. They are not a complete or continuously updated directory of every organization or partnership working across the Front Range.

Turning Connections Into Opportunities

For Fireshed partners, the map offers a starting point for finding organizations working in a particular area, exploring existing relationships, and identifying potential collaborators.

These connections matter long before a forest treatment begins. Coordinating across land ownerships requires trust, community engagement, shared planning, and organizational capacity. Fueling Adaptation’s research emphasizes that building this capacity takes time and sustained investment.

We see the map as an invitation to build on those relationships. Exploring who is already involved can help partners ask useful questions: Who else shares our goals? Where could we coordinate efforts? Whose perspective or expertise should we bring into the conversation?

No single organization can address wildfire risk alone. By making our regional network more visible, FireCollabMap can help us find opportunities to work together toward healthier forests, safer communities, and reliable water supplies.
