Prescribed Fire Treatment Effects on Cameron Peak Fire

After the Cameron Peak Fire, the incident management team created this video to describe how fuels treatments around the communities of Red Feather and Crystal Lakes helped firefighters to confront the Cameron Peak Fire. A great example of how the Fireshed is working to collectively achieve greater landscape impacts that benefit watersheds and communities!

The Colorado Forest Restoration Institute (CFRI) completed monitoring of prescribed fires in this area to assess changes in forest structure, composition, understory vegetation, and fuel loads. CFRI will take future measurements in the area to determine how forest treatments may have impacted fire behavior within the areas treated with prescribed fire.
